Course Description:

Our patient population continues to get sicker and healthcare costs continue to rise. Our changing healthcare environment requires a different type of training than what is taught in medical schools. Preventable chronic diseases now dominate the top ten list for causes of death here in the U.S., and our physician burnout rate is at an all-time high.

Dominating our surveys are your requests for tools to help guide the transition to a practice focused on creating health, as well as better resources to more efficiently and effectively educate your patients. Many physicians are no longer willing to focus on treating chronic symptoms. The key today is working with patients to ensure healthy lifestyles to prevent many of the chronic diseases affecting our growing population.

Course Description:

Join us as we Master the Practice and Optimize the Care at this transformative event for your unique practice setting.Our Program focus will encompass 4 different areas:

1. Patient Education.  No business discussion would be complete without an emphasis on the patient experience for your patients.  Satisfied patients tell their friends and family. We want to maximize this for your practice with lots of tools and ideas to create extraordinary patient relationships that matter both to you and your patients.

2. Medical Legal.  There are many obstacles to consider when picking a business model that works best for your type of practice.  Whatever you choose we want you to set it up in a legal framework that protects you and your practice

3. Business Operations.  Business Start-up and/or a practice transition is never an easy endeavor especially if running a business was one of the last things you thought you’d be doing.  Hear from some business and consulting groups and make sure you’re in the know for basic business practices.  In addition we’ll assemble a faculty of physicians who have made the transition, hear their story and learn what worked, what didn’t and why.

4.  Marketing.  We like to believe that once you open your doors patients will come but often times there needs to be a little push.  We’ll try to make it easy and straightforward but there are some things even you can do to grow your practice.  Practical tools to go home with and easily implement, that is our goal

James J. Eischen Jr., J.D. – Faculty Chairman


Jim Eischen is a California attorney with nearly 30 years of experience representing clients in matters involving business planning, healthcare, privacy, licensing, and regulatory issues (including Medicare compliance, physician compensation, and private direct fee business modeling and compliance). His practice encompasses life science companies integrating physician healthcare models via Management Services Organization (MSO) structures, navigating the corporate practice of medicine, and related compliance issues. He advises clients in matters connected to reimbursement, contracts, interdisciplinary health professional employment and labor issues, and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance. Jim has done credentialing work for physician independent practice associations (IPAs). He has experience structuring physician practice purchase and employment structures, and assisting companies delivering wellness products or programs, to ensure reimbursement and privacy compliance. Jim is a national authority on structuring consumer/patient financial contribution and reimbursement models for private/concierge medical groups and healthcare IT product developers to achieve federal legal compliance. He has worked as a consultant/founder with medical groups, electronic health record software firms, cardiovascular testing and health coaching enterprises, and venture capital groups exploring healthcare opportunities. Jim also provides preliminary guidance on practice formation options

Megan Burraston, EDAC

Megan Burraston has been a top performer with Steelcase, Inc. for 15 years.  For the past 8 years her focus has been working with major non-profit and healthcare clients in Utah, Colorado and Arizona.  Megan is EDAC accredited (Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification) and thrives on partnering and consulting with her clients to promote innovative environments, generate cost savings and maximize space utilization.

Mike Clark, MBA, JD, Ph.D.

Mike Clark is the founder of Seeking Perfect Health and co-founder of the Natural Bio Health Clinics where he created one of the

first bioidentical hormone and functional medicine clinics.  He served as the Director Education and Research at the clinics for

seventeen year, developing the hormone practice and subsequently the weight loss and gastrointestinal health practices. He built and

subsequently sold five bioidentical hormone and medical weight loss clinics beginning in 2001 - 2015.  

He has a Doctorate degree in Natural Medicine, has been designated a Health Practitioners Diplomat in the Clinical Science of

Anti-Aging, and a Fellow and Advanced Fellow of Anti-Aging, Regenerative & Functional Medicine.  He has been certified by the 

Amen Clinic and is a GX Sciences Trained Provider.  


Andre Etherly, MS 

Andre Etherly is a consultant and entrepreneur with much of his work in the last decade focused on enabling Integrative Medical Practitioners to succeed by applying the sciences of technology and business into medical practice models. He has helped numerous integrative practices, many from initial startup, with projects that have included Business Plans, Marketing Analysis, Competitive Analysis, Practice Design (Fee for Service, Concierge, Hybrid), and numerous others.

Andre received a BA in Business Administration from Michigan State University and a MS in Information Systems Technology from George Washington University. Mr. Etherly’s Capstone Project focused on leveraging technology to improve healthcare outcomes and lower costs. Much of his work since that point has been focused on that objective.

Kalia Galvan

Owner of Framed Marketing, a boutique marketing company in San Diego, California, Kalia specializes in Ad Management, Branding, Graphic Design, Website Design and User Experience. Framed Marketing was developed to help small to medium-sized businesses, both locally and nationally, that don’t have the time or knowledge of how to effectively market their business. Many of Framed’s clients include medical practices, wellness salons and exercise studios.

With over ten years of work experience, Kalia attended University of San Diego and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies. After receiving her degree, she tenured at an international digital marketing agency and focused on corporate marketing, including international corporate events, digital marketing, brand development and philanthropy.

In her spare time, Kalia enjoys doing Yoga, getting outdoors, and experiencing San Diego’s infamous food scene.

Kena Galvan

Kena has over 25 years experience in the health care industry. She has served in many areas including contracting, financial and operational management, business development and marketing, and technology implementation.

Prior to founding Absolute Solutions, Kena worked in large hospital systems including UCSD, Scripps and Sharp HealthCare, as well as multi-specialty practices and private centers. This diverse background provides Absolute Solutions with a unique, all-sides point of view and the drill down capabilities to formalize your vision, implement the plan, review the successes and opportunities, and continue fine-tuning to perfection.

Steve Goldring, RPH

As a compounding pharmacist, Steve Goldring has been educating women in menopause for over 25 years. He’s sat under Dr. Neal Rouzier’s teaching at multiple Worldlink events and has earned Advanced Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy certification from Worldlink Medical. For the past three years, Steve has been answering a call to create educational materials to help women in menopause gain clarity and confidence about optimal hormones. He provides video-based, online resources to explain optimal hormones in simple, clear language for women with no medical background. He’s surveyed over 1400 menopausal women to understand what they know and what they want to know about hormones, their risks, and their benefits.

      Cancellation Policy

      If cancellation is received more than 3 weeks in advance a full credit can be applied to your account for future use. If cancellation is received less than 3 weeks before the event, a $350.00 cancellation fee applies and the remainder will be applied as a credit to a future event.
