Background- Began the study and prescribing of bioidentical hormones in 1979
- First ND to participate in initial medical seminars on bioidentical hormones, with Broda O. Barnes, MD Research Foundation and the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM)
- 1990s advance study of bioidentical hormones with physicians from Europe
- 2005 intensified evidence-based study, research and participation with Neal Rouzier, MD
- Maintain clinically active practice in Hawaii for 35 years; teaching and lecturing on aging and safety and efficacy of bioidentical hormone therapy
- 1999 Appointed to Mayor’s Task Force on Health and Wellness
- 2001 First ND in Hawaii, admitted to state hospital staff, Maui Memorial Medical Center
- 2005 First ND recipient of ‘Heroes in Health Care’ annual honor, presented by Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation
- 2005 Commendation from governor of Hawaii for service to the people of Maui in the field of naturopathic medicine and women’s health
- 2006 Appointed to Board of Naturopathic Medicine for State of Hawaii. Currently serve as chair
