David Kern, ND, LAc

David Kern has practiced naturopathic medicine for more than 47 years and has been researching and prescribing bioidentical hormone therapy since 1979. He is the owner and Medical Director of Grace Health Center on the island of Maui, Hawaii, where he has maintained a clinical practice since 1985 with a focus on preventive medicine, healthy aging, women’s and men’s hormonal health, nutrition, and metabolic medicine.

In 2001, Dr. Kern became the first naturopathic physician in Hawaii to be admitted to the medical staff of Maui Memorial Medical Center. In recognition of his clinical contribution, commitment and service to the community, the Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation honored him as Alternative Physician of the Year in 2005. That same year, he received a formal Commendation from the Governor of Hawaii acknowledging his “leadership and contribution in women’s health and naturopathic medicine through his longstanding service to the people of Maui.”

Dr. Kern has been an active member of WorldLink Medical since 2005 and currently serves on its Scientific Advisory Board. Over the past three decades, he has lectured extensively at medical conferences, professional seminars, and advanced hormone education programs, including presentations for the WorldLink Medical Academy. 

In 2025, American Association of Naturopathic Physicians honored Dr. Kern with its Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his nearly five decades of contribution to the naturopathic medical profession.

• 2001 First ND in Hawaii, admitted to state hospital staff, Maui Memorial Medical Center
• 2005 First ND recipient of ‘Heroes in Health Care’ annual honor, presented by Maui Memorial Medical Center Foundation
• 2005 Commendation from governor of Hawaii for service to the people of Maui in the field of naturopathic medicine and women’s health
• 2006 Appointed to Board of Naturopathic Medicine for State of Hawaii. Currently serve as chair
