Steven L. Gershon, MD, has been in private practice for more than 30 years and is the founder of Gershon Pain Specialists and Optimized Hormones in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dr. Gershon is also ABHRT certified through the Academy for Preventive and Innovative Medicine and has devoted more than 15 years to the practice of Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT). He specializes in helping both men and women optimize hormonal health, improve quality of life, and address the effects of aging through evidence-based, individualized treatment strategies.
A recognized leader in both clinical practice and research, Dr. Gershon has served as Principal Investigator on numerous clinical trials evaluating innovative therapies across a wide range of conditions, including chronic pain, migraine, gout, osteoarthritis, peripheral arterial disease, fibromyalgia, low back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, cervical dystonia, and obesity management utilizing GLP-1 therapies.
Dr. Gershon is actively involved in professional leadership and education. He serves on multiple committees for the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R), participates on several pharmaceutical and healthcare advisory boards, and is a national educational speaker for multiple pharmaceutical companies. He lectures extensively throughout the United States and internationally on topics including hormone optimization, metabolic health, musculoskeletal care, and evidence-based clinical practice. He has also co-authored numerous publications and educational materials related to patient care and therapeutic innovation.
